One Saturday, Three Christmas Events: A December 5 Plan Around Helen

The short answer

On Saturday, December 5, 2026 you can shop Helen's Christmas Market (10 AM to 5 PM), catch White County's Christmas in the Mountains Celebration in Cleveland (noon to 7 PM) and finish at Victorian Christmas at Hardman Farm (4 to 7 PM). Here is a realistic order to do all three.

Saturday, December 5, 2026 is the fullest day of the White County Christmas calendar. Three separate events overlap, all within a short drive of each other. Here is how we would string them together. Every time below comes from the organiser’s listing.

The three events

Event Where Hours
Helen’s Christmas Market Main Street, downtown Helen 10 AM to 5 PM (source)
Christmas in the Mountains Celebration Courthouse square, Cleveland Noon to 7 PM (source)
Victorian Christmas at Hardman Farm 143 Highway 17, Sautee Nacoochee 4 PM to 7 PM (source)

Morning: the market in Helen

Get to Helen early. The market opens at 10 AM, and parking downtown is mostly in paid lots, so arriving before the crowd gives you the most choice. Spend the morning on Main Street: the stalls sell handmade Christmas gifts, decorations and sweets, and the shops along the street are open too. Have lunch in town; the visitor guide counts more than 35 restaurants in the area.

Early afternoon: Cleveland

Cleveland, the White County seat, is about nine miles south of Helen. Its celebration runs from noon to 7 PM with a holiday market of craft, gift and food vendors on the courthouse square, free photos with Santa at the Chamber office, and a lighted Christmas parade through downtown. The listing does not give the parade’s start time, so check before you plan around it.

Late afternoon: Hardman Farm

Victorian Christmas at Hardman Farm opens at 4 PM. It recreates an 1877 Christmas at the Nichols family home, with horse-drawn wagon rides, period decorations and sorghum Christmas cookies. Hardman Farm is on Highway 17 in Sautee Nacoochee, just south of Helen. Check the Georgia State Parks page for ticket details before you go.

Evening: back to the lights

If you still have energy after Hardman Farm closes at 7 PM, Helen’s Christmas lights are the reason to end the day downtown. Main Street after dark is a different place from the busy market morning.

If you only want two

Market plus Hardman Farm is the easiest pairing: shop until mid-afternoon, then drive a few minutes south. If you are coming with young children, the Cleveland celebration’s Santa photos may be the priority. See the full 2026 schedule for every date.
